MeDMUN IV Secretary General
For MeDMUN IV, we have decided to end our newsletter and instead begin regularly publishing a blog. Our newsletter ran from 2014-2017, and it will be sorely missed. As an organization, we always want to be moving forward and we feel that a blog is a natural outgrowth of this progress. For us, a blog is a more conducive format to engage with our conference participants and will allow us to feature a wider variety of voices. In addition to the organizational updates that were provided by our newsletter, our blog will also feature posts about topics related to Model United Nations as well as commentary on current events and global affairs. We will feature shorter posts, in addition to longer, more academic blog posts. We will accept entries from participating delegates, staff, and secretariat members.
A motivation behind our switch from a newsletter to a blog is that we want our participants to remain consistently engaged in international relations issues and we feel that a blog will allow high school students and our staff members an ideal forum to constructively engage with these issues. In the same vein, having a piece of writing, even a simple blog post, published is a fantastic way for delegates to prepare themselves for college and potential careers in research and other areas.
While we are excited for our new blog and to see a variety of perspectives represented, we will reserve the right to edit posts for grammar and clarity. Finally, all views expressed by blog posters are the views of those contributors and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Metro Detroit Model United Nations organization.
If you are interested in contributing to our blog please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org Even if you do not have any ideas for a blog post, please reach out to us if you are interested as we are more than willing to brainstorm with you!
